Dreamcatcher – Bleeding Heart (2025)

Formed in Paris in 2001, Dreamcatcher are a French heavy metal band known for blending classic metal influences with powerful storytelling and historical themes. Over the years, they have built a solid reputation for both their songwriting depth and uncompromising sound.

Set for release on December 18, 2025, Bleeding Heart is a passionate and hard-hitting album that showcases the band at its most focused and committed. Musically, the record delivers driving riffs, sharp melodies, and an unmistakable old-school metal spirit, while lyrically it explores themes of injustice, resilience, and identity.

It is worth praising Chris Garrel’s dedication to the defense of Native American peoples. In songs such as “Full Blooded Indians” and “Tatanka,” Garrel pays tribute to the struggles, dignity, and resistance of Indigenous nations, transforming historical memory into powerful metal anthems. His approach is sincere and respectful, elevating the album beyond entertainment into a statement of solidarity.

Bleeding Heart is a solid record driven by conviction, heart, and a deep sense of human awareness, whether you’re drawn by the thunderous instrumentation or the profound narratives.

Eazy Street – Quest For Glory

Eazy Street – Quest For Glory (Remastered Compilation)

Eazy Street was a band from Silsden, Yorkshire, England, that emerged in the early 1980s. Their only original release was the single “Quest For Glory”, self-released in 1984 without a picture sleeve — a true rarity that has since become one of the most sought-after treasures among N.W.O.B.H.M. collectors.

Performing across the pub and small club circuit around Yorkshire, Eazy Street quickly built a loyal local following, thanks to their powerful live shows, outstanding musicianship, and a charismatic lead singer. Despite their immense potential, a record deal never materialized, and the band eventually split around 1986.

This compilation brings together the complete recorded legacy of Eazy Street: the highly collectible “Quest For Glory” single, their four-track demo tape recorded between 1982 and 1983, and two electrifying live songs captured at a special reunion show on February 6, 2015, live at the Sunnybank Social Club in Silsden.

All tracks have been carefully remastered from the original sources, restoring their raw energy and enhancing sound clarity while preserving the authentic 80s spirit. The CD also includes a 12-page booklet packed with rare band photos, liner notes, and memorabilia — a true gem for N.W.O.B.H.M. enthusiasts and collectors alike.

Released by Hellven Records - HC013.

For fans of classic British hard rock and heavy metal, this release is nothing less than a Quest for Glory fulfilled.

ROD1313 - Overcome

"Overcome" represents a natural evolution from "Gravity" and "Dark Clouds", both in terms of production and mastering.

"The Path" follows a way that Rod has already accustomed us to in "Dark Clouds".

"Something To Live For" is the advance single, and a personal favourite of mine, with excellent tempo variations, great melodies and guitar solos.

After the dark melodic "Lifeline" comes "Now and Forever" featuring João Brito from the band "Devil In Me" on lead guitar. The title track "Overcome" has the heaviest riff on the album and it ends with "Sign Of Life", which shows a darker environment.

Overall, "Overcome" is a pleasant listening album full of very interesting technical aspects. For catchy melodies and good guitar solos lovers.

Dreamcatcher - Whitechapel 1888 (Video)

Whitechapel 1888, is the new video of the band Dreamcatcher. This music belongs to the album "The Road So Far", released about one year ago and is based on the myth of Jack The Ripper, but in this case not in the streets of London but "À Paris".

At the middle of the video, there is a small reference to "Rue Morgue" and the album "Killers".

Overall a very interesting and well-made video. You can watch it here:

Dreamcatcher - The Road So Far

“The Road So Far” is the third effort by French metal band Dreamcatcher, so called as a reference to its 20 years of existence on a road full of obstacles and challenges, without ever giving up.

Currently, the band consists of main man and founding member Chris Garrel on lead vocals, Alexxandre Qen on bass, Thierry Thuane on drums and Bastien Lemoine on guitars.

It starts with "Faster, Higher, Stronger", a fast and furious, "in your face", thrashy song. "It's a Good Day to Die" and “The Man Who Would Be God” are catchy mid-tempo songs, with great melodies (guitar and vocal lines) and chorus.

There is a common factor on "The Road So Far" the dark vibe that we can find especially in "Thunderbird", "The Woman In White" or "Whitechapel 1888" with particular emphasis to disturbing atmospheres and guitar cavalcades as we can find on “The Phoenix will Rise” and “The World Is Falling Apart”.

There are three bonus tracks on the album. Silent Bloody Night that it's a mashup of the songs Blood on the Snow, originally from the same title album, and Silent Night, and it sounds darker and different from the original version. And the acoustic versions of "Mother Earth" and "Dreamcatcher" that were originally recorded on the album "Blood on the Snow" from 2017.

In short, this is a solid album, with great production and more direct approach than the two previous ones. Lyrically we can find references to Native American culture and the myths of fantastic literature. The band is ready to hit the road and spread the metal word wherever it could be.

Seventh Son - Immortal Hours

Seventh Son is a Hard Rock band from Barnsley, South Yorkshire, England, and they have been delivering Hard Rock to our ears for 40 years, Bri Shaughnessy (lead singer) is the only remaining original member and the driving force behind this band.

Immortal Hours is an excellent compilation of the tracks recorded during the 80's by an underrated band that plays classic hard rock sound, loaded with great guitar riffs and solos and show us the magic of the band’s early years, a lesson of pure Hard ‘n’ Heavy as it has to be, great songwriting that puts a smile on your face.

Tracks 1-3, 5-9, 11-14 were recorded at The Radio Hallam Sessions from 1983-1985. And tracks 4 and 10 are "Man in the Street / Immortal Hours" the iconic single from 1982. There’s a little touch of early Saxon in the structure of some of the songs, with powerful drums and screaming guitars.

Fortunately, the band is still active after 40 years of activity, having released some great records along the way. Brian Shaughnessy wants to hit the stage as soon as possible and guaranteed that there will be a new album very soon.

You can find it at: http://www.seventh-son.co.uk/shop.html

Seventh Son - See Emily Play

"See Emily Play" it’s an EP recorded by Seventh Son in 2016, and the title track it's a cover from Pink Floyd with dark and psycadelic sounds turned into rock, you can listen to Bri singing in a low range on this song.

"Keeping The Wolf From The Door" has a solid and direct hard rock riff, reminding the old school days, following the classic sound of the band, with a short and effective solo.

"Rebel Angel '16" is a new version of the classic "Rebel Angel" which appeared originally on the 1987 album Dangerous Kiss.

Last but not least we have a great live version of the fast and furious classic "Alive by Night", at the Board Walk Sheffield on may 2008.

Overall, this EP has a great listening and excellent production and shows the band in very good shape.

You can find it at: http://www.seventh-son.co.uk/shop.html

Seventh Son - Living on a Time Bomb

Living on a Time Bomb it's the last EP recorded by Seventh Son in 2017, with current lineup, Bri O'Shaughnessy on vocals, Dave Fox on guitars, Rick Gregory on bass and Kev Lee on drums. It starts with the title track, a cool combination of catchy riffs and great melodies in the old school hard rock way.

Stage Crazy was recorded on the Metal to the Moon single session and has a direct heavy riff, this is the broadcast version at Radio Hallam.

The third track show us Seventh Son paying a great tribute to The Beatles turning the song Eleanor Rigby, into heavy rock, recorded live at the SNAFU, Rotherham, England on december 2009.

It ends with an interview to Bri and Rick at Radio Barnsley (in 2000).

A very diverse and solid EP that could be a good advance of what will be the new album.

You can find it at: http://www.seventh-son.co.uk/shop.html

Seventh Son - Spirit World

"Spirit World" it's the latest studio album recorded by Seventh Son on 2009, and it has some great songs, as an example we have the title track "Spirit World" that has become one of the classic songs when the band plays live.

"The Last Witch in England" is a true story about a medium called Helen Duncan which was the last woman to be convicted of witchcraft in 1944 and it has an excellent dark doomy vibe.

This album contains a revisited version of the classic Dangerous Kiss (Dangerous Kiss... Revisited) with guest appearance of original guitarist Kev Shaughnessy, with different lyrics at the end of the song.

Speaking of guest appearances, we also have Graham Oliver of Saxon playing a solo on Unfinished Business, another great hard rock tune in evidence on this album.

Overall, this is a great hard rock album from start to finish, great songs like Kiss the Dead, Estranged, House in Darkness or Haunted by the Past that display strong songwriting and very competent musicianship, the band sounds very cohesive, very good quality sound, with an irreproachable rhythmic section and great vocals by Brian Shaughnessy, an excellent frontman than carries this great band for over 40 years.

ROD1313 - Dark Clouds

Dark Clouds is the new EP by guitarist Miguel Rodrigues, under the name Rod1313.

This is an introspective instrumental EP, consisting of six songs: Witness, Nothing Left, Reflection, A Storm is Coming, Dark Clouds and The Awakening, guitar oriented, combining a wide variety of elements such as Hard Rock, Metal and Prog, with modern approach and with excellent production.

The songs "Witness" and "Dark Clouds" are based on heavy riffs with great melodies and several rhythm changes and prog elements (specially "Dark Clouds"), being "A Storm is Coming" an acoustic intro to "Dark Clouds".

Nothing Left, takes us through the most melodic paths of Hard Rock and Aor.

Reflection has a more Hard Rock approach with some prog elements.

Closing the album we have "The Awakening", with special guest Luis Justino, ex-Império dos Sentados, playing his keyboards, with beautiful melodies radio oriented.

In short we can say that this EP combine heavy riffs with dark ambient rock and sometimes some prog elements and, of course, excellent guitar solos, being a worthy successor to the previous EP, Gravity.

Will be released on March 5th

Rampant – Angel of Dreams (Beyond The Stars)

Rampant – Angel of Dreams (Beyond The Stars)

Original N.W.O.B.H.M. band Rampant, reformed in 2019, is back in action, after a long absence, with a new single called Angel of Dreams (Beyond The Stars).
The line-up that recorded the single consists of: Sam Henstock and Jamie Carter on guitars, Micky Dietz on drums, Jimi King on bass, and enthusiastic original member, "Tee Rets" on lead vocals and keyboards.

I have been given a promo of Rampant's charity single Angel of Dreams (Beyond The Stars). It’s a tribute to little Molly (daughter of Brian Mear), and became the anthem of Mearfest Festival, and it’s a brilliant power ballad. The sound takes you to the spirit of the 70's with some great guitar melodies and awesome vocals. Most of the words on this song are from 2 of Brian Mear's poems
Note that this song includes a children's choir, since children have great significance for this song.

I've also heard pre-release versions of another two tracks from their forthcoming as yet untitled album that is held up in its recording due to Covid-19: “All the World's a Cage” and “Phantom Riders”.
All the World's a Cage, has very catchy guitar melodies, with a very interesting folk sound that will get you hooked.

Phantom Riders is a new song by the new line-up of the band, it mixes more recent influences with heavy doom riffs and a slight progmetal leaning, powerful drumming, and a great solo. Tee Rets voice sound more aggressive on this one, but also on a higher level, he plays a keyboard solo in this song.

Overall the band sounds very cohesive, with an irreproachable rhythmic section formed by Micky Dietz on drums and Jimi King on bass. Great guitar lines by Sam Henstock and Jamie Carter and “Tee Rets” giving his heart and soul to his great vocals.
Also in the spotlight is Gina Northernbat Lewis guesting on harmony vocals on Angel Of Dreams (Beyond The Stars) and as the witches on Phantom Riders.

The revamped Rampant is here to stay spreading the true heavy metal word, fronted by lead singer Tee Rets, a true metal legend.
The band is currently speaking to various labels with a view towards the release of its forthcoming album.
For fans of good traditional Heavy Metal.

Helix - Breaking Loose

This is the 40th anniversary edition of the first Helix release, Breaking Loose, released by Dyamond Roxx, sub-label of Progaor Records (first time on CD, in Europe).

Breaking Loose is a much underrated album by veteran Canadian heavy rockers Helix, with a late 70's classic hard rock sound loaded with great guitar solos, with a great remastering sound.

Apart of the eight original tracks: I Could Never Leave; Don't Hide Your Love; Down In The City; Crazy Women; Billy Oxygen; Here I Go Again; You're A Woman Now and Wish I Could Be There, it contains two unreleased extra tracks Let Me Take You Dancin' and Sidewalk Sally.

This is a great release for fans of late 70s Hard Rock. It's available at:  https://www.discogs.com/sell/item/1008565384

Lust ‎– Hollywood Roxx 1976-80: Studio Sessions

Hollywood Roxx 1976-80: Studio Sessions is a compilation that includes the best recordings made by Lust, the band of the guitar player Austin M. Carrino, that featured mythical Keith Deen on lead vocals, who later joined the speed metal band Holy Terror.

Lust's sound brings us to a typical hard rock of the late 70's, featuring short guitar-oriented songs being the highlight the great guitar work done by Austin Carrino.

It should be noted that Keith Deen sings in a very different way from the one that he got us used to, later in Holy Terror, in a much more melodic way.

An excellent record that also includes a song from Austin M. Carrino's solo project, Awesome Austin: I Need Your Love. For Hard 70's sound lovers.

ROD1313 - Gravity

Gravity is the first solo work of Miguel Rodrigues aka Rod, a guitar player with great experience since the late 80's.

This mini-album is instrumental and guitar oriented, recorded at his own studio in Uppsala, Sweden, in 2019 and self-produced, and the project is called ROD1313.

The EP consists of six songs: Scars, Gravity, Silence Speaks, Hollow, Back From The Ashes" and "The Wait", "Hollow".

The sound takes you to some instrumental hard rock melody lines along side with some powerful riffs reminding you of late 80's Power and Thrash Metal bands (like Silence Speaks, Hollow or Back From Ashes), in a mix with very catchy melodies.

And it's available at Rod's page: www.rodriffs.com .
